I cannot say enough good things about Andy and Southend Asphalt. My parents hired another local company to repair their driveway(it was in pretty rough shape with ruts and uneven sections) and the other company was less expensive initially…more on that later. The previous company laid down crushed asphalt and basically evened everything up and told them they would be out the following day or two to apply the asphalt sealer. This stretched out for about 3-4 weeks (if not more) and when they finally showed back up and applied the sealer it was not even close to being “sealed”. The asphalt was still very crumbly and overall it was just a very poor job in my opinion. I reached out to Andy and explained the situation to him and asked if he could swing by and take a look at it and give me an estimate to do the job right so it would last several years. He personally went by and looked at it within a couple of days and called me with his estimate and explained the scope of work they would do. His price was very fair and he guaranteed their work so I told him to get it scheduled and take care of it. They just finished up the project yesterday and he sent me pictures and videos during the job and called me when it was done. Extremely professional and my parents are very happy with the work he and his crew did. Top notch guys with top notch equipment and everything was handled promptly and professionally. He even bumped them up a day in advance due to some inclement weather forecasted for when he initially scheduled the job. If I ever need any service that he provides he will be my first and probably only call. I will not mention the business name of the previous company because he is local and I’m assuming he’s perhaps just starting out judging by his equipment and lack of attention to detail and response times, etc. Having said that, this is definitely a situation where you get what you pay for. Can you find someone to redo your driveway cheaper than Southend? Yes. INITIALLY. Can you find someone to do it better? Not likely. You could always load up a bunch of wheelbarrow loads of pea gravel and do it yourself as an inexpensive temporary solution. Or you could just call Andy and have something done right that your grandkids can probably ride their bikes on in 30 years. 5 stars and that’s only because that’s the highest Google allows.

Living in Jacksonville Tx, the city doesn’t do a good job of keeping up with the roads and paving of the town. It became an issue when my driveway had multiple potholes in them that I had to drive over to reach my house so I HAD to get them fixed. Fortunately I came across Andy, the owner and he was the nicest guy in the world. He was more than happy to help and he did an amazing job all in one day! It has been about a few weeks since the work has been done and I have no problems with my driveway. For any future paving needs I will definitely reach out to him again.

I would highly recommend Southend Asphalt! I hired them through the property management company I am employed with to fix a parking lot and was so impressed. Their work was high quality, and Andy was professional and responsive throughout the whole process. Their price was fair and they completed the job quickly. 5 stars all around!

Southend Asphalt did a great job covering old dry asphalt saving me the cost of having to have to resurface with another layer of asphalt. He stands behind his work!
