That’s where we came in. At Southend Asphalt, we’re often called in to transform raw, undeveloped land into functional, accessible spaces.
For this project, the client had a clear vision: create a clean, strong driveway that would provide direct access to a newly built metal structure, likely used as a shop, garage, or large storage unit.
Navigating Trees, Terrain, and Texas Soil
The property’s setting posed a few interesting challenges. Surrounded by mature trees and natural soil, the asphalt driveway needed to curve gently toward the building without disrupting the existing landscape.
We paid special attention to grading the path so water runoff would be directed away from both the asphalt surface and the building’s foundation.
Drainage is always a key concern in East Texas, where heavy rains can cause erosion if not managed properly. To reinforce the asphalt edges, we installed a layer of crushed gravel. This not only improves drainage but also strengthens the sides of the drive, reducing the chances of crumbling over time.
Form Meets Function
The finished result is a sleek, professionally edged asphalt drive that leads directly to the building’s large roll-up garage door and side entry. Whether the client plans to use the space for working on vehicles, storing equipment, or housing large tools, the paved access ensures smooth entry for both foot traffic and heavy trucks or trailers.
We kept the driveway’s curve smooth and natural, following the lay of the land rather than cutting a rigid line through it.
The result is both functional and visually appealing—a solid blacktop path that complements the metal structure without clashing with the surrounding woods.
Built to Last—and Built for Texas
Longview’s hot summers and unpredictable storms can take a toll on inferior asphalt paving jobs. That’s why we use high-quality materials and proper base preparation on every project. This driveway wasn’t just built to look good—it was built to last.
From the subgrade to the final roll, every layer was compacted and laid to industry standards for strength and longevity.
